FM.C.32 FINDS A COMPLETELY HIDDEN TOY

Now your child can learn to find objects that have gone from sight entirely. When he does this he shows he knows that the object still exists even though he cannot see it.

How to Assess

As for FM.C.24 or FM.C.26, except that now the object is completely hidden from view. Let him play with it first, and watch as you hide it.

How to Teach

You can teach this skill in the same way as FM.C.24, except that now you will build up from partially hiding the toy, to hiding it completely. Alternatively, you could teach the skill through activities like those described in FM.C.26, hiding the toy completely from your child’s view.

When your child has mastered this skill, you can try some more challenging variations. Refer to the last skill in this sequence, FM.C.42.
