FM.F.47 MARKS PAPER WITH A CRAYON
When the child can hold the crayon in an up-and-down position, he will discover that he, too, can make marks on the paper. To begin with,these marks may be dots or dashes, rather than extended scribble marks.
Assess and teach this skill at the same times as FM.F.46 (holds a crayon).
How to Assess
As for FM.F.46, scoring plus if your child makes a mark on the paper with the crayon.
How to Teach
As well as guiding your child to hold the crayon upright, encourage him to mark the paper. Give plenty of demonstrations and verbal encouragement.

Go straight on to FM.F.53 (scribbles spontaneously).
