RL.A.10 LOOKS AT PICTURES OR OBJECTS FOR 2 MINUTES WITH AN ADULT

This is an extension of the previous skill in this sequence.

How to Assess

Materials: A colourful picture book or some interesting toys.

Method: Sit your child on your lap, and show her pictures or objects, talking to her about each one and allowing her to handle them.

Score plus if your child attends to the pictures or objects for at least 2 minutes. Remember to choose clear uncluttered pictures. She may look away from the pictures and objects to you from time to time, but should not be distracted by other objects or events in the room.

 How to Teach

Teach as for RL.A.9, gradually extending the time for which your child will attend.
